It was a beautiful sunny afternoon at Glengariff Historic Estate when Lucy and Matt exchanged their personally written vows. Lucy chose a sleeveless gown with a silk overlay and her bridesmaids wore gorgeous knee length aqua dresses and carried matching singapore orchids. At the conclusion of their ceremony they chose to release two celebration doves from www.weddingdoves.com.au and had two wandering amongst their guests. With guests travelling from the overseas it was a wonderful gathering of family and friends. To add a touch of home for Matt, they decorated each table with a story from each part of Matt's homeland.

Philip and Suzzee toast their future

It was the most perfect weather in Mt Tamborine when Suzzee walked the red carpet to marry her dream man, Philip, at The Castle in Tamborine. Suzzee chose a red colour scheme and wore a hand beaded feather headpiece and carried a bouquet of crystals in a flower design. To remember deceased family members they chose a Candle Lighting. The bride is usually the one with tears, but as Philip and Suzzee exchanged their personal vows, Philip shed a few emotional tears. He said he was a softie and the ceremony they chose reflected just that. The ceremony was enhanced with the music of angels by Harpist, Janice Preece.

Having to move away from Brisbane after the floods didn't stop Heidi organising their wedding at The Spotted Chook in Montville. Heidi was able to organise everything from their home in South Australia and arrived days before the ceremony to complete the finer details. Being a Florist she was so intent in having the perfect bouquet she worked until late into the night to ensure the wedding party has the most spectacular arrangements. Walking down the steps to meet her truly handsome man, Matty, bought a tear to the eye of many guests. The wedding lawn was decorated in an olde world and very romantic theme by local decorator, Trudy Croad of Lovebird Weddings. After the ceremony, Calli B Photographer took the wedding party up to the Glasshouse Mountains to get their spectacular wedding pics.

Beautiful balmy weather beside the Brisbane River was the venue for Kylie and Neil to exchange their vows with a large gathering of family and friends from Australia and across the Tasman. With such busy lives it was hard to get them to sit still long enough to tell me their love story. The day arrived, their story was written, music selected and their guests stood and welcomed Kylie as she walked down the aisle, strewn with coral and cream rose petals, to met her dream man. Her cocktail length tulle wedding gown, embroided with pearls and lace, was perfect against Kylie's creamy skin. A short veil over her face adorned with tiny crystals finished off her ensemble perfectly. Neil's Dad, Ian, did a magnificent job as Master of Ceremonies and the ceremony unfolded with their love story giving everyone a chuckle. They danced the night away at Riverlife at Kangaroo Point. A perfect ending to a fairytale romance.

Organising a wedding from overseas can be daunting for some but Philip and Darlene were able to make their intimate ceremony one they would treasure for a lifetime. Guests travelled from southern states as well as from overseas, many commenting on our beautiful weather. Philip's father, Noel, was the Master of ceremonies and did a magnificent job ensuring everyone was well looked after in the lead up their exchange of vows in Brisbane's north. Katy and Jonny met in England 9 1/2 years ago at the University Sailing Club. They sealed their love with a wedding ceremony with their English family and friends in April. Not wanting their Australian family and friends to miss out they held a Reaffirmation of Vows Ceremony at their home in Manly. They chose a reading from The Owl and the Pussycat for their ceremony and then "danced by the light of the moon, the moon, they danced by the light of then moon" at Manly Deck Restaurant. Katy later told me they had so much fun during their ceremony their guests thought we'd been friends for years.

On a recent trip to Southbank in Melbourne Kate and Cam were watching a young couple kissing. Kate said "Bet you can't beat that Cam" to which he said "Bet I can" and produced an engagement ring and asked Kate to marry him - Kate said yes and Cam's mother cried with happiness. They decided that Manly Deck Restaurant was the perfect venue to exchange their vows. Cam, in a very efficient way, was able to organise the whole day, incorporating a "Mario" theme into the Reception. Kelly loves the colour pink, butterflys, her two girls and Cam and their ceremony had all those elements. Kelly looked beautiful in a hot pink gown and the girls wore beautiful white dresses. During the ceremony, Tory-lee, welcomed all the guests and Charlee sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" (actually the guests did most of the singing and Charlee just looked pretty - which she did with style).

Kelly and Jason's love affair started in high school. Little did Kelly know that having a broken leg would attract the attention of her true love and the person she would later marry. Jason, a true romantic, quietly bought an engagement ring, stowed it in his backpack, and on a surprise visit to Santorini in Greece proposed to Kelly as the sun set.

In the months leading up to their ceremony great construction plans were put in place by Kelly's Dad. He designed and made interlocking hearts fixed to a sandstone base so they could incorporate a Lock Ceremony into their day. On their many travels Kelly and Jason visited "Lovers Lane" in Cinque Terre in Italy. This Pathway of Love is frequented by many couples in love and tradition has it, that locks are attached to the fence and the keys thrown away. Kelly and Jason asked their guests to each bring a lock to attach to the hearts - symbolising the locking together their love. Kelly and Jason exchanged their handwritten vows (which they learnt by heart) at Cherbon Waters Ceremonial Gardens with Photographer and school friend, Beth Carter, taking the beautiful wedding pics. Kelly and Jason's love for each other was radiant throughout the ceremony. An amazing couple on an amazing day.

Mahala and Matt at Broadway Chapel

There was hours of preparation leading up to the marriage of Mahala and Matt, their beautiful German Shepherd Sasha, even wanted to help out with the ceremony. Not wanting to have a wet weather alternative, they choose The Broadway Chapel for the ceremony. But the floods in January had other ideas, and their reception venue was badly damaged. The day however, was just beautiful. Mahala arrived with her bridesmaids, Zoe and Bindu and her Mother, Rae. Although being nervous, as most brides are, she was just radiant and so excited to be marrying Matt. Matt and the boys were calmly waiting inside in the airconditioned Groom's Wedding Party Room. The love shown in their eyes as they exchanged vows would have made even the toughest person shed a silent tear.

Deciding to have a wedding ceremony on the eve of her 50th birthday party was how Linda decided to remember this special birthday. Making all the arrangements from North Queensland made everything that little bit more difficult but what a success it was! Such beautiful weather and the beautiful setting in the Botantic Gardens, Brisbane ensured Linda and Greg exchanged their vows in front of close family and friends a very special and heart warming occasion. As Linda said "she didn't think she would enjoy the ceremony as much as she did, she just wanted to marry her gorgeous man" and she did. A couple so in love. Greg's late wife, Lyn, sent a sign of approval from heaven which they all laughed about but expected. They concluded they wedding weekend with a party on the Brisbane River which was a roaring success.

The weather wasn't kind to us but the look of love between Mimi and Darrin brought the sun out. With such a beautiful setting beside the Brisbane River, the Venice Restaurant pulled out all stops to make the exchange of vows between Mimi and Darrin a memorable and beautiful occasion. The beautiful music played by Harpist, Janice Preece, set the romantic feeling that moved through the ceremony. The traditional words they chose gave greater depth of meaning when they exchanged their vows, they chose to complete their ceremony with a Sand Ceremony, pouring the sand into one vase symbolising the joining together of their lives (we had fun rehearsing the Sand Ceremony with white and raw sugar - like a sweet rehearsal!).

It was a beautiful sunny day for Wennie and David to exchange vows in Gumdale, Brisbane. Wennie wore a beautiful knee length cream chiffon dress and with her beautiful dark features she looked the radiant bride. David wasn't the least bit nervous - which was good to see and they exchanged their vows with great depth of feeling. We all took so many photos they'll have a slideshow that goes on for days. Puppy Naming for Vison Australia

It was the generosity of Trilby Misso that allowed me to celebrate a special puppy naming ceremony for Vision Australia. Each puppy has an extensive and expensive training regime before they are given the very important role of being the "eyes" for a visually impaired person. Trilby Misso sponsored "Ty" and we formally named him in a ceremony at the Trilby Misso Offices in Brisbane. I hope many other companies follow their example. Ty behaved himself very well, but is still a little afraid of stepping over that gap between the floor and the elevator. He look's very important in his special "training coat".

Organise a wedding in less than 5 weeks on the Sunshine Coast when you live in Brisbane - easy! Well that's what Belinda and Ben achieved and it went off without a hitch. Exchanging vows in the beautiful grounds of the Hyatt Coolum on the Sunshine Coast was a day Belinda and Ben will remember forever. With Bestman, Dallas, whispering in Ben's ear "Ben, she's beautiful, wow, she's beautiful" as Belinda walked down the aisle and we all agreed. In a gown of ivory silk Belinda married her best friend of the past 5 years in front of family and friends. Choosing traditional vows they promised to love, honour and cherish.

"Could we just stand in the corner and quickly exchange vows and then have the big party" was all Lyn and Neale wanted for their wedding day, not to be as their friends would have been furious. Their newly renovated home was beautifully decorated with lanterns and orchids (for all the ladies). Lyn and Neale greeted their guests and when all were assembled Lyn changed into her "wedding dress" to be walked down the aisle by her mother. As was their choice, the ceremony was brief but Lyn shed a tear of joy as she exchanged vows with her amazing man. The party began, the champagne flowed and the oysters were consumed late into the night.

A huge amount of preparation led up to the Wedding Ceremonies of Rakesh and Andrea. With a pre-wedding Hindi Ritual followed by a spectacular Hindi Ceremony, Andrea and Rakesh had a memorable week. Their Hindi ceremony was translated into English for Andrea and their guests. Two days later they had their official ceremony at "Hillstone" Golf Links at St Lucia with 150 family and friends. The bride, looking a little nervous, looked beautiful dressed in traditional costume. The rest of the wedding party were also dressed in traditional costumes and added to the beauty of the ceremony. With so much gorgeous colour, Philip from Inexpensive Wedding Photography was able to make the photographs look spectacular.

Dianne and Mervyn celebrated their wedding in an intimate ceremony in the Parkland beside their home with close family and friends. Dianne's son gave her away "with the greatest of pleasure", knowing she would be in good hands with Mervyn by her side.
